Our Story

Notebook and Pen

Welcome to our story!

As a mother of a daughter who was born with sever disabilities, my concern care for myself was quickly redirected to her. I experience many road blocks and lessons learned, as the years went by. Having two other children and a failed relationship, that did not sway me from my commitment to her. Truthfully my daughter taught me patience and acceptance to the challenges that life presented me. I began to put my energy into making her life as it was, normal and adjustable to her. I experienced the disappointment  of several companies, due to their lack of services. The job of a full time mom was a understatement, and personal time for myself was almost impossible. Listening and sharing with other families the diagnosis of their love one. The waiting became a place of therapy, temporary napping sessions and information updates. I began to notice the similarities of concerns, each one of us had, for their love one as well as the exhaustion of their self existence. This caused me to start Thinking to myself, that there has to be something for the caregiver. Something that could lighten their twenty four, seven days of the week obligation.

Moving forward after retirement, I realized that I had one job that was a life time commitment in which I could not retire from. Regardless of my age and shortage of coverage,  from a agency we were under contract with. My responsibility for my daughter did not change. I have been blessed to have friends and family that have stepped in and offered to help whenever they could or if we needed it, but that was not always the case. My husband and I have committed to this life time service and realize there are so many levels of care. This prompted us to take the initiative to come up with a program that recognize caregivers that give care to their very own love one, sometimes while still working and a lot of times without extra income. Noticing caregivers of a love one, showing gratitude, and going the extra mile, was and still is to this day our way of saying we care about you as well. Establishing this program is our contribution to them.

We are a  Caregiver By Choice Relief program. A group of volunteers who recognize the selflessness and dedicated act of love, that so many caregivers display in order for their love one to have a respectable and healthy quality of life. Regardless to whatever condition they may be in, they still need to be shown appreciation. We are here to say," we see you and thank you by giving. Our volunteer service to them, is to distribute one flower at a time." This is their choice.

What do we provide?

We provide relief to caregivers, who give care to their love one.

What are the duties of our volunteers?

Our volunteers are here to relieve the caregiver of their duties, as we attentively keep a watchful eye and monitor the surroundings of their love one until they return.

What is the purpose for this?

This will give the caregivers a chance to refresh and recharge themselves, in order to continue to give care to them effectively.

Is this the same as a Home health agency?

This is not a medical or health agency. This program does not take the place of the home health payee duties or any other medical agency that may come to provide service while our relief volunteers are present.

So specifically who is this program geared to service ?We are a group of volunteers who acknowledge and try to assist  the caregiver with making time for themself.

A Supportive Hug

What Makes Us Different

We offer relief to caregivers, who give care to their love one. Our volunteers are here to relieve them of their duties, of monitoring and assisting in areas that are under our program check list. The caregivers, can refresh and recharge in order to continue to give care to their love one effectively. This is not a medical or health agency. We are a group of volunteers who recognize the selflessness and dedicated act of love, that so many caregivers display in order for their love one to have a respectable and healthy quality of life while remaining in their home. We extend our voluntary service of care in hopes that they will know that we care for them as well. We depend upon our trust in God, to provide resources so that we can actively give this act of kindness. It is not our intention to deny service due to funding. The  lack of availability, personal conflict or breach of agreement, would be considered upon findings that would determine our denying of services. Our services are totally for the caregiver. We do not take on the responsibility of a payee caregiver. This service is only for their personal time.

This program is supported by the help of volunteers, donations and sponsors.

We are here to provide you with the best service possible. Our volunteers are dedicated to making sure caregivers can be cared for as well. Their privacy and the privacy of their love one is understood, excepted and agreed upon.

Outstanding Service

We are dedicated to providing outstanding service to our caregivers. Through the best of our  availability as relievers. We  acknowledge their sacrifice by paying it forward.
